i'm currently downloading a film and its about 95% finished
i restart my computer and then i notice it has that bug icon next to it (means it has bad rating right...) so i check the commnts as more and more clients are added to the file's queue and more and more comments say its a bad vertion untill one comment says its excelent and the icon changes........ i dunno if its really a bad vertion or a good one but if there are more bad comments then good ones the icon should have stayed a little red bug and not a red thermometer (or whatever that is)

is this a bug?
maybe it knows what to count on :O)

The fact is that the comment icon is just an average value about all the other comments. You can see it like a 0 to 5 point system. If you have four comments rated 0 (bug) and one rated 5 (excellent), the average of them is 1 (poor).

fine... but the fact was that there were about 7 bad comments and one excellent icong (the icon that was showing was the excellent one)
and indeed i cant watch this film...
if it was working properlly i would have seen the bug icon straight when i started downloading but i missed it cuz as soon as it saw an excellent rating that took over !!!

it was no avrage i tell you that !

Mmmm, let's wait for same dev to explain it better. As I can see, the fact is that 7 bad comments (0) and an excelent one (5) math an average of 0.62. Surely E+ round the fraction up, that means a poor (1) rate. Perhaps will be better to round low, in a way that any average <1 will be calculated as 0.

Sorry, there is no optimal way to handle such comments. I've seen several times some stupid guy who puts a "fake" rating to many popular files to make people look into comments and there he only has an ad for his f**king website. If this single wrong "fake" rating among several "good" or "excellent" would result in a "bug" icon for the file this would also be wrong.

What you can do: Look into the comments and if you're unsure run a fake check for the file, i.e. via the "webservices" context menu.

humm.... first of all i'd like to say that you're right psy....
it might have been that (i got confused with the icons) BUT its still not good cuz the fact was that 6 not 7 fake ratings didnt show as a bug icon just becouse there was one excellent rating

of course i'm not saying that if there is a bad rating its gotta showup as a bug icon
but there's gotta be a better way to do this since now its not really reliable !

It will never be reliable as ever user is free to insert comments and ratings as he likes, right or wrong. You can have i.e. 7 ratings an 6 are wrong as more and more people use comments just for their advertising purposes. No weighting algorithm can solve this issue (many artificial intelligence would be needed wink.gif ).

Nobody can verify which of the comments and ratings are right or wrong. It's just an additional info to remind you to check with any fake check tool or site if the comments/ratings are not clear.

I personally open comments if there is ANY rating present and decide then if I do an additional fake check or not.

well........ i did NOT say it has to be 100% acurate...
and from now on i will check all the comments to decide my self
and these icons are therefor totally useless so whats the point in having them at all?
if you're gonna do something do it right...
