I don't know if this counts as more stored sources "customization", but here goes.
I have Windows 2000. I try to spend most of my time logged in as a non-administrative user, to avoid accidentally messing up the system or exposing my secret files to passers-by. But occasionally I do have to log out and log back in as Administrator, in order to install software, run abcAVI, etc. And that means closing all programs, including eMule+. Although this only involves quitting eMule+ for a few minutes, restarting seems to lose many of my sources. In particular, a file will often have only one or two complete sources, who take several days to reappear each time I restart eMule+. So could eMule+ store all sources? I read some other forum where the poster was against this idea, because he has a dynamic IP that may change while I'm disconnected, and because he doesn't want a barrage of obsolete connection attempts. But it's such a pity to lose several days' worth of accumulated sources just because I had to quit eMule+ for a few minutes. |

sources are stored on a regular basis depending on what time option you gave it in preferences. After a time has passed it will reload these sources and if they are still around they will be connected to. So im sure that the 1-2 complete sources will be reloaded back again.
Besides it doesnt take days to find sources. AFAIK theres a switch user option instead of logout. This might be better for you, as you dont need to turn emule off. And you can access emule through the webserver pages. |

AFAIK one of the eMule MODs ( zz-ul IIRC) soon may have such optional feature -- "Quick Reboot" or something like that is the name for it.
Yeah, I agree that this feature will be very usefull for many people -- almost for everybody. It can allow you to reboot your PC (if it become very slow or because of re-/un-/installing software/patches/drivers) without losing many sources on both DL & UL queues. If this feature will be implemented (I hope it will be soon) -- I'm sure that it'll be optional (dynamic IP, etc etc) I vote "Yes" for this feature to be implemented -- hopefully soon In your case (logging as normal user and then relogging as Admin) -- try firedeamon (I hope this is correct name of that programm |

He (She?) has \/\/indows 2000 , not XP one -- Win2K doesn't support multiuser shell/login.
True -- but for the reasons described by him it is not good enough. If you need only to reboot PC or to do something else for very short period of time ~10mins or less (and eMule needs to be OFF) -- all those existing Save/Load sources features are not good enough. That's why this feature request has right for "independent life". |
