Crashing after installing WMP 11

eMule Plus version:	eMule Plus 1.2a
Using proxy:	Don't know
Firewall:	No
CPU:
Memory:	512 MB
Operating System:	Windows XP SP2
Updated drivers for network and video:	Don't know

Hi there. I have BIG problem and I'm sure that It's Microsoft's fault.

First of all - this is my first post here. I'm from Bulgaria. My English is not good at all, so pls excuse me.

So... Today I found the new 11th final version of Windows Media Player here. I have downloaded it and because my Win is not really very legal I tried to cheat the installation process. Well, I'm not the first, won't be the last, so pls don't blame me! Anyway... After installing it (I'll not tell you exactly how - let this sin be only mine

) I found out that I have a little problem with my eMule Plus. It's the latest 1.2a release. When i run the executable the program starts and when it begins updating the IP filter (or the server list - I don't remember what kind of setting had I setted) it suddenly crashes. It's a self-closing bug!

OK... Im not sure that the problem is with WMP11, but I have no other explanation. So if anyone have an idea - welcome.

My cheating procedures in fact do not install anything additional. I've just extracted the main .exe file. I've reinstalled eMule plus. No progress. EDIT: I do not guarantee that there is anything with WMP11, but it's installation was the only one notable intervention I've made for that day. This post has been edited by Stalik: Oct 31 2006, 00:26

WMP11 is working? ----- Edit: I have check it out, and all "working" executables there do install something... I presume you had skiped the WGA check with no running "setup_wm.exe" first. So I guess you had opened some of the installers... as I can't get a WMP running just using the "wmplayer.exe" inside "wmp11.exe". This post has been edited by Vladimir (SV): Oct 31 2006, 01:04

Group: Betatesters Posts: 1316 Joined: 31-July 05 From: San Salvador, El Salvador	Well, I finished installing it, and you have to install something else then just open "main executable"... but anyway, it does not make any trouble with my eMule Plus updating IPFilter, it's some kind of safe to discard it as source of the problem. Can you take a picture or tell us which error number or maybe some info related to the crash error dialog?. Or it's just "auto-close" with no info?.

No warning, no message, nothing. It happens in less than a second time. Well, don't worry. I don't want to disturb you any more. If anyone used to have the same problem and had solved it - he's welcome here.

Group: Betatesters Posts: 8261 Joined: 29-February 04	Does a clean install of eMule Plus work? Install to an empty folder and try. If this works, then some configuration files might have problems. Try deleting the db folder. Then try deleting gui.dat in the config folder.
