Never having heard of A4AF before, I thought I'd do a bit of reasearch into it (still don't fully understand what it is). I found some references to it in here... something to do with it causing lockups in eMule+ for some users.

Well... I jumped in at the deep end by r/clicking on a download and selecting 'Advanced' > 'Download from all A4AF sources (auto)' and splat!... eM+ hit my processor with 90+% CPU activity for what seemed forever... the gui totally froze and I eventually had to kill the process with the task manager.

The next time I ran eM+, it was as if I had just started from a fresh installation... dialogue boxes popped up informing me of default laguage and asked me if I wanted to run multiple instances of eM+. As soon as I hit the connect button the same hangup occurred, but this time I noticed that eM+'s processor activity appeared to be normal, even though the gui had froze again, and I also found that my firewall's statistics monitor was showing eM+ going crazy, attempting to make thousands of connections to addresses like 'http://www.yahoo.com' and similar.

I eventually gave up after several attempts to get started and decided to reinstall, but I'm now warry of altering any settings.

Any comments?
