Computer configuration:
eMule Plus version: 1.2a, 1.2b
Using proxy: Don't know
Firewall: Don't know
CPU: sempron 2800+
Memory: 512
Operating System: XPsp2 max updated
Updated drivers
for network and video:
Don't know

already checked on 'b' and 'a' version.
emule crashes about 1~3 minutes after start -
"program not responding" etc...
i use avast antivir. 4.7home + Zone Alarm Pro 6.5.737.000, XP Firewall is OFF.
antivirus is not monitoring all emule directory, temp or download because i put a mask on them.
servers are responding good, files sometimes start to download before crash, sometimes don't.
I already tried some things but can't do nothing with it :(

Is it a crash or just "program not responding"? What is the CPU usage?

Do you have crash dump file (.dmp)?
Are there any errors in the logs (main and debug)?
How many files do you have in the shared files list?

sorry for misplacing the thread

1. "program not responding" CPU normal
2. don't know which one you mean, but there's nothing in emuleplus directory, only in Dr Watson dir.
3. I have 14 shared files
4 "Are there any errors in the logs (main and debug)" where to look for it?

What does (1) mean? GUI is stalled and not responding to the clicks? What happens if you wait a little (still the same)?

Concerning (4) logs are at the bottom of server page, also you can find emule.log and debug.log (if enabled) in emule directory.

Try temporary disable antivirus and firewall to test without them.

nothing in both debug and log,
debug:
CODE
2007-02-18 19:04:43: Debug log is active
2007-02-18 19:06:08: File file_name is being hashed
2007-02-18 19:06:15: Published 1 file(s) on the server, 0 remaining

log:
CODE
2007-02-18 19:06:08: Plik file_name was hashed (pozostało 2)

about 1 : yes, gui is freezed and not responding to clicks, if i pop something on it becomes white. waiting (10 min) doesn't change anything.

disabling the firewall and antyvir also didn't help.

Also patch tcpip.sys to 50 or more. Get the patcher from http://www.lvllord.de

Different systems can react unpredictably to this issue.

Does it happen always after file completion "File file_name is being hashed"?
How many CPUs do you have?

i've got 1 cpu.
It happens randomly.
I moved my files_to_be_hashed elsewhere so it don't hash anything but with no results.

So far you're the only one who reports this strange hanging.

Thus it's either caused by something on your machine, or you have some unique situation (configuration, files, etc.) which reveals this issue.

Your description is not enough to understand what's going on inside. Try to monitor, maybe you can notice something happening before the hanging.

You don't have faulty hardware and corrupted file system, right?

Also check for virus, update your AV and let it do a full scan.

Try a clean eMule Plus installation on other directory.

You might want to do a surface scan of your hard drive. Maybe some bad sectors lurking around. unsure.gif

Can you please create a dump while eMule Plus is freezed and send it to us with informations about which version is running ?

use the following command line :
CODE
ntsd -pvr -p ‘PID’ -c “.dump /ma /u process.dmp; q”

PID of eMule Plus process can be retrieved in Task Manager

if you're using WinXP 64bit edition u will need to use NTSD from \Windows\SysWOW64 folder.

Thanks.
