I see that emule uses zLib 1.21

There is now a new version 1.22
http://www.zlib.net/
http://www.zlib.net/zlib-1.2.2.tar.gz

andI higlly suggest you use fast assembly code (see masmx86 in zlib122asm.zip or contrib/vstudio and contrib/masmx86 in zlib-1.2.2.tar.gz) You need define macro ASMV and ASMINF when compile zlib to use asm code

For assembly code you can take
http://www.winimage.com/zLibDll/
http://www.winimage.com/zLibDll/zlib122asm.zip
