Sorry guys, yet another important difference from Edonkey... I did not beware files with unavailable parts in Edonkey. I used MetFile Regenerator 3.013.7 to join downloaded available parts and usually it was possible to repair video or archive file and to get something. I tried MetFile Regenerator 3.013.7 with eMulePlus with no such success. I see that Edonkey and eMule sotres temporal parts in different way. eDonkey makes a subfolder for each download and in this subfolder therre are lot of *.part files and *.met file. No problem to join. eMule do not use subfoldres. It gives number for each download and all parts are in one *.part file (though *.met files are also present). I tried joining for one partial download. I determined that my partially downloaded file is named 017.part. I have found 017.part.met file, and asked MetFile Regenerator to join the file. MetFile Regenerator determined the name of the file and started work. Starded, but not stopped until the resulting file was gigabites in size and still working, working, working.... Possibly MetFile Regenerator was trying to join all files in temporary folder?? So, the simple question: how to join partially downloaded files in eMulePlus? Please give a link to such information or just explain. I did not find information in FAQ (sorry, it isn`t easy for me cause English is not my native...). Hope someone helps... |

No need to join -- everything is kept as one piece in .part file (all received parts are inside).

If your intention is to preview a partially downloaded video or archive, just right click the file and select 'preview'. If preview is not available (eg. if you have just started downloading the file), enable 'get first/ last chunks for preview' in the advanced menu for the file, then wait until there is enough data downloaded to obtain a preview.
Note: you'll get best results for previewing videos if you specify a compatible media player for it in preferences>general>directories. Recomended VLC from http://www.videolan.org or Media Player Classic. Windows Media Player does NOT handle pertially downloaded files well. Note: previewing archives needs a lot of disk space - worst case up to twice the size of the archive in question. |

Thanks! Very simple
Seems that every *.part file is the video-file, or archive-file, or document in fact. So I can take it and make what I want to do. |
