Hi guys,

I couldn't find anything that deals with this issue so I thought I'd post it here:

Since emule 0.49a a CAPTCHA function has been implemented that prevents Plus users from firing up a chat with that client. Connection attempts produce the following message:

"In order to avoid spam messages, this user requires you to solve a captcha before you can send a message to him. However your client does not supports captchas, so you will not be able to chat with this user."

I can see that few people use the chat function but I felt it sometimes was useful to ask people for info or to have a look at their file priority settings etc. Any plans to remedy that problem?

I really hope you guys are planning to implement that feature for the next release. I think it wouldn't require a lot of coding and unless it is added the chat function is pretty much broken.

It does not show up on the requested feature list, maybe someone should add it?

Feature request ticket is opened, but it won't be done in 1.2e for sure.

I wouldn't miss the chat feature anyway. That one, IRC and Comments/Ratings are features I would gladly see gone.

Not. Perhaps in a client called eMule Minus.

I would, however, like to have the option to launch an external IRC client from inside eMule Plus with the connection string automatically inserted there.
