Hy,

I would like to surf anonimously, while using emule to share data... Well, I know I can use free firewall to block defined ips (RIAA, etc) , like sygate personal firewall....

But this feature does not put me in stealth mode... I would like to know if there is a known incompatibility between emule network and a software called stealther (www.stealther.com), like impossibility of connection, low ID, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Emule requires an open port for data transfer (4662 is default). I do not think what you're asking for is possible... one day they will hopefully make emule totally encrypted; requests/sends/everything. Until then...

Forgot to mention that emule has a built in blacklist you can use (called ipfilter.dat); read about it in the FAQ.

Um, well you cant have a highid if you want to do this as a highid means your client is directly contactable. If you want to hide your real location on the internet you could try using the proxy as this will make your client appear to be located at the proxy servers address, of course you need to find an internet proxy with enough bandwidth and Guts to be able to cope with emule.

@graysky : encryption doesnt help one bit for emule to work you need to tell as many clients as possible, hello Im here and I have these files, the idea is any client can contact any other cleint. The reason why encrypted p2p work (such as nullsofts waste) is because these created only for a small number of clients who all authorize each other.

Do you know any proxy like that? Any paid one, maybe, if price is affordable....

hi

found this one on emule forum but not tested it

http://www.anonymize.net/index.html

in my mind the problem is still the same, using anonymiser or not, because your ip is logged somewhere and (RIAA, etc) can also ask them, like to your isp, to get your real ip ( verizon story )

best regards

I used to sometimes have problems with low ID, all of a sudden. I haven't for a long time. My basic configuartion has not changed, but I now run ZA Pro 4.
I run ZA Pro 4.0.123 in stealth mode, and have no problems with low ID or, generally, downloads (around 50-60 k).
I am actually using an XP PC as an ICS gateway for up to 5 other PCs. All run ZA Pro 4, all in stealth mode.

Well, I have already ZA Pro also (version 3) in stealth mode, but even with that function enabled, the Stealther website is able to show my real IP...

There is a Test It option in www.stealth.com website. Can you test ZA Pro 4 in that website and report about the stealth mode?

Thanks.

every "stealth" firewall makes only the ports stealth, never the ip - this is impossible (without proxy)!
