I've dealt with LowID's before, but now I'm in a dorm with an ethernet connection. I've been here a few days and I haven't been able to get rid of my LowID. I have BlackIce, but it's configured for the correct ports. I don't know of anything else that could be standing in its way. Oddly enough, when I do connect to a server, I do get a little speed, but it's nothing like what it could be. Does anyone know of what might possibly be blocking my ports?

Yes, the ISP there is probably using a NAT device or something similar..

or is using an overall firewall.

Maybe you can ask the ISP for the ports, but I don't give it a big chance. I think it's just not going to work, sorry.

Your problem could be that your ISP may have blocked the port 4662.

My ISP too has blocked all the ports and thus I too cannon even connect to the Emule server even if connected after 3-4 hours then I get a lower id and nothing works.

after speaking to my ISP i came to know that they have blocked the ports due to bandwidth getting choked.

My ISP is not opening the ports and due to their monopoly I cannot even change my ISP.

Please help me if possible.

Is there a way to connect emule to any other alternative port. as they have blocked all the default ports being used by emule i.e 4661, 4662, 4665 etc

If you use XP, you might also want to check the built in firewall. For some reason mine inabled its self,
Disabling it fixed the low id.
