Something strange just happened when I tried to connect to one of the ProbenPrinz.de servers (.137 to be exact). It gave me the following error message:
ERROR: This server accepts only zlib aware clients. Please upgrade your client. (emule 0.30b or greater)

I got this message twice (in a fairly short period of time), but when I tried again an hour later, my emule+ v1h was accepted without fuzz.

has anyone else seen this, or is it just me?

That´s probably one of the new lugdunum servers that support compressed client - server communication.

Hmm, I thought they only support it but not that you´re being forced to have it in order to connect to those servers huh.gif

The irritating thing is that it was sporadic. It feels like a bug in either the client or the server... and since it is intermittent... I guess that it will take a while until it is nailed down unsure.gif

bluecow already asked lughdunummaster to change this from "error" to "warning" ... not really necessary (as far as i've read on the board)

QUOTE (Purity @ Oct 6 2003, 22:09)

But bluecow already found out that it´s a bug in the client software, not lugdunum´s or the servers´ fault smile.gif

But he referred to a real information message ('...you´ll get much more sources if you upgrade...', but in this case it looks like you actually are not able to connect to this server unless you use a client that supports the new protocol.

So IMO "ERROR" is quite ok in this case, since the connection is not established.
