I alway have problems downloading this kind of files, since I don't know what is exactly coming inside.
I have just got download of some edit that comes zipped as "rar" but I have found inside the rar a huge amount of files with extension "mpc". None of my tools can deal with this (Any one knows what to do witg this? any help will be welcome). But the importan problem is the waste of time and energy in downloading something thet you ignore if will be of use or not. In some way the kind of files inside the zipped files should be expressed in order to make a wise election. Thanks This post has been edited by janes bong: May 29 2004, 16:24 |

OMG Read the rules.
1) you are not to mention any files you download 2) this is not a forum which helps you with what you download. 3) I really dont know what your request is. This post has been edited by reanimated838uk: May 28 2004, 23:52 |

Sorry. Surely I have not expressed myself conviniently: I was speaking about the inconvenience of blind downloads and if any solution to know what is exactly inside a zipped file.
But perhaps you are right and this is not the convenient forum for this kind of topics. My apologies |

Either preview the file (right click file > preview (assuming you have enough data to recover some files).
or get a verified link to the file your looking for. IMO, this is better off in Support |

...sources filenames in details, fakecheck, comments and rating can help to identify fakes, too.

MPC is a great but not widely used audio codec. this site helps a lot: http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=mpc&Submit3=Go%21 anyway, a google for "mpc" has that format in the first page. ps: here's a test of 6 audio codecs at 128kbps in which MPC came in second (or tied at first (as you like it): http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?showtopic=21904 This post has been edited by janes bong: May 29 2004, 16:25 |

Also know that transcoding to mp3 makes the result sound worse than the original mpc. |

As lonewolfevoVIIpower, the loss is not much to be noticeable and I have all sort of devices with MP3 support and even WMA but none supports MPC.
