Hello, I am new to emule and have been using winmx in the past. I have a question on how to know which file has the shortest queue. For example I do a search on a specific song and about 50 come up. Is there anywhere to see which of these files will be the quickest to download ? In winmx there was an indicator of how many were in the queue and also when there was no queue at all. I did figure out that you could right click and see how long the queue is, but it would be nice to know before and choose a file that has no queue at all.

I have installed emule plus, not sure if this is any better than the normal emule and what is different about it.

Look forward to getting to know you and using this program.

regards,
Joanne

sorry, none of them emules or other ed2k-client i know can do this.
start downloading the files with the most sources found, cancel the others when one has finished or has been transferred the most.

thanks for your reply biggrin.gif . There are two figures under sources, one in brackets. What do they signify ?

What does the color mean ? Some are black and some are blue....

What do you mean by when one has finished or transferred the most ?

regards,
Joanne

When you perform a search you can use the number of sources, and number of complete sources to help you. The more blue a file is the more sources it has, red sections means noone has this chunk.

Please consult the FAQ for further details:

this page covers most things, just read to the bottom:

thanks for the links, will read them and try to understand better. I thought I was pretty good at understanding the internet and computers but this program is really confusing to me. I wonder if emule (not the plus) would be any easier to understand or even worse.

I was recommended emule but at the moment find it a lot more complicated and confusing than winmx.

Regards,
Joanne

Just check the FAQ and everything will become clear. IMo the only difficult areas to understand is the colors used, the number used for sources (both search sources and download sources) and progress bar. Other than that its a case of configuring the right settings, adding files and waiting.
