Outline · [ Standard ] · Linear+ Emule ends abruptly, probably specific to my PC

Hello all

Been a fan of the mule for a long time, it is probably the best P2P I have used in my time.

Just recently (following a clean reformat of my whole system) I have been having some problems with it. I've read lots of posts in this forum and no one else seems to have reported this error hence I think it might be something to do with my computer specifically.

Basically, Emule sometimes just ends. When it's minimized in the system tray, I might run my mouse over it, say to right click to change the UL speeds or whatever, but as my mouse goes over the little mule head icon it just disappears and on checking task manager the process is no longer there. It's really frustrating, because I tend to leave the machine on over night and when it closes down just after I go to bed say, I wake up and find that nothing has downloaded. Also, I lose all my sources, which is quite possibly a disaster of epic proportion as you all know

Any suggestions? I was unaware version 'l' is out, maybe should update? But this version used to be fine.

Any help will be greatfully received.

update and see if it happens again. Please mention in future the versions you use makes it easier for us as we will most likely assume your using the latest one even though this may not be the case

That looks like some kind of crash you have. Please, enable logs and look into them after it happens again.

Also please include system details (hardware, network, OS, relevant software).

Hercules Radeon 9800 Pro
Windows XP Pro
Seagate SATA 80gb Barracuda

Netgear router with the default emule ports forwarded (always have high ID)
Onboard LAN (nForce2 chipset)

Can you just tell me, to install the latest version, what do I need to do to retain credits etc? Also, is the log enabling just a setting in the preferences?

As you read a lot on the forum I think you saw that

start eMule+ and when it happens again, open debug.log and emule.log (in the eMule+ directory) and lookout for errors and exceptions.

There were several topic about reinstallation. Please, find them.

Outdated after 2 days
