Make the friends boost optional and set it to disabled by default.
Some people may want to keep a friendslist without boosting the score.

That's a fine way to be treating your friends. You should be ashamed of yourself. laugh.gif

flame on me rolleyes.gif but xalbux has a point here which i agree to. or is there a good argument not to split those functionalities?
...and i dont think we have to ride on the 'community' story again wink.gif which btw is disabled by default, too.

Hi smile.gif

I recognize that we have to treat our friends equally ... but also the best friends exist happy.gif .

At first I utilized the original emule. But when I tried emuleplus never again I stopped using . Really he looked like a version made perfect of the original. And in fact he is it at present.

Because of the scarcity of this mentioned option, some days ago, I reasoned seriously in changing original emule. Why? Simple. This "shaming" option, like you they call at it, shields one of the big defects that any emule has : When you need a determined file urgently, whether you like it or not, you have to wait ... to wait ... to wait ... to wait ... and to wait boring.gif ... to frustration dry.gif . What did that a great many people discard these applications like manager of downloading of files.
But I indicated that the original emule continued having some bugs of all times... , Serious nothing really, and I returned to emuleplus.

I use my emuleplus, and use him very much, but it is necessary to recognize than when you need some file urgently, have or no many friends in your list, you have to wait ... to wait ... to wait ... again. The last thing than happens to me they are ED2K ...

In order that I have friends if not do they be going to help when he have problems really sad.gif ? Rather, they do not go with the intention of to be able to help me... dry.gif

I recognize that a deliberate and mass use of this option would provoke an unbalance in the net ... but no, if be limited.
You, emuleplus's developers, they realized it once: They improved what he was seeming insuperable. Evolution: Emuleplus
And they would be able to do it again ...

Friend boost, or as he be called, it is not a stupid option. It is an option than, well-developed, he would be able to serve the ball to over one of a difficult situation ...

My point of view is that one smile.gif .

A greeting to all.

Gee, seems I touched the holy cow tongue.gif

It's just a feature. Nobody gets hurt when it's made optional and disabled by default. If someone wants to use it feel free to enable it in the preferences.

Regards.

Don't add people to friends if you don't want to encourage them -- you already have such option. That's it.

Just kidding around, xalbux! There is a lot of scope for improvement in friends; stuff like categories/groups of friends, comments/renaming of friends, ability to see their details even when they are not connected, etc. Your suggestion could be looked at when the devs get around to doing this. I would even like a category for clients that are unfriendly, so that I can better keep track of them.

I share your opinion muleteer, there is a lot of little things that could be improved in the friends management. Of course this is not the priority because bugfixing is a lot more important but it could make things easier.

An option to disable the friends boost would fit for the beginning :-)

No change for the friend boost mentioned in the current change log from the cvs.

Any plans to add this soon?

Who told that it would be implemented?

No, one.

Any reason why it shouldn't be implemented?
Why are Plus users forced to have friend boost enabled when they add 'friends' to their list. I don't think the friend list is just there for managing boosted friends.
Give the choice to users.

Currently the friend list is just there for managing boosted friends. We hear you, we get your point, we agree with you but, as stated previously, this is low priority. Until then, you'll have to make do with pen and paper, or do what I do: bring up the details for the client and take a screenshot (click Alt+Print Screen and paste into MSPaint or similar) and save them in a folder somewhere.
