dear admin , 5 mbps DL and 1 mbps is much MUCH faster then 1.6 kb\s I always had 10kb\s UP,
all tests showed different results, I did one test on USA server and it gave me 2004-11-14 19:22:54 EST: 295 / 495 Your download speed : 303033 bps, or 295 kbps. A 36.9 KB/sec transfer rate. Your upload speed is much faster than down.. have you tweaked? Your upload speed : 507794 bps, or 495 kbps. another test on server which located in Toronto showed me Loaded 225455 Bytes in 2.0530998706818 seconds 878.5Kbps is your thruput my real speed for download from HTTP is around 650-700 kb\s This post has been edited by UkrainianWolf: Nov 15 2004, 00:25 |

Try also to reduce "connections per 5 sec" to 30-50 (you can even try 20).

Just a point you might be overlooking: a good source will only move to the next client in the queue after one of the current clients has completed a chunk. A poor source, on the other hand, one that is having connection problems etc. will run through its upload queue much faster as the connection attempts will fail faster. If you look at this from the downloader's point of view, you should expect to see a lot of crappy sources when you restart or when you first add a file to downloads. On my eMule it takes a couple of hours for the better sources to come along. Sometimes I'm lucky and a good one appears almost immediately; mostly I have to wait. Whenever you make a change in your settings, its a good idea to observe the behaviour for a few hours at least to get a better perspective of what the change has done for you.
