Computer configuration:
eMule Plus version: 1.1a
Using proxy: Don't know
Firewall: Yes
CPU: athlon
Memory: 512
Operating System: xp
Updated drivers
for network and video:
Don't know

I am new to emaule and I have run into the problem of low id upon trying to connect to the server. I am using verizon dsl and I do not have a router (I am not networked, I just use the dsl to connect directly to the internet). I have norton internet but it when I installed I allowed for emule on all ports (though in advanced I see that the option for blocking windows file sharing is checked, but when I disable norton it still give me a lowid). I am unable to find anything in my network for dsl (to disable a fireall if there is one), except the local network connection (which I already said I do not have) and my dial up netrwork (which I am not using since I am using dsl, and evn when I disable it protection I still get low id). At this point I am at a loss as to what to do from here. I get connected to the netrwork but my download are painfully slow. Please help if you can?

Many dsl modems have a router built in. Go through the modem's manual and configuration utility carefully. Also, check out the router guide in FAQ. There is a good external link there.

Ok, but if there is a router in my westell model 2200 dsl modem, then what settings should I be changing, and to what specs? Seems very basic to some I know, but I am new to all this.

What part of "check out the router guide in FAQ" did you not understand?
Go to http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm. There you will find a link for Westell 2200. mad.gif
