Used emule plus for maybe 12 hrs last three days and only downloaded 1 KB total (from file with about 45 sources). Status says I have 3.5 days left to complete download. Plenty of people have uploaded from me, uploads never get above 2-3 KB/s. I'm configured properly: connections set to 80% of DSL speed, ports configured to 4662/4672, etc. Using XP SP2 firewall. I don't have problems downloading using Shareaza. I don't get it. |

You need to run eMule+ all the time. Closing the client will hurt your downloads badly. If you need to restart your computer, make sure that save/load sources is enabled in preferences->advanced->advanced.
For XP SP2 you will need to patch tcpip.sys to increase the limit of number of half open connections from the default 10 to at least 50. Search the forum for more info on how to do this. Also make sure that 'open client ports in the internal WinXP firewall' is enabled in preferences->connection->connection. |

I had the same problem and was going crazy until I didn't use e-mule (the normal) anymore. I just solved the problem 2 hours ago by changing the TCP port to 6462 and UDP to 6472. I also needed to adjust that in my router settings.
After two hours speed was going up constantly. I'm now at 32k with a 512/128 line. The point is that some internet providers BLOCK the standard e-mule ports. My provider is Telefonica Spain By the way, I did the a.m. change in line with a change to e-mule plus, which is said to be faster, but the real problem was the service provider I guess. Regards from Barcelona. |
