Full Version: Too Many Corrupted Parts !
eMule Plus Forums > General > Support

Hi all,
I am using eMule plus for long time, and downloaded dozens of giga bytes without problem, some of that files have had some parts corrupted and most are recovered and thats normal, I know.
But lately most of my files have more than 20% corruption loss (20% of 2Gb file is 400 Mb and that is very much) , and worse ,most of the corrupted parts are not recovered, so i am loosing a lot of Mb and time. Also, some parts are downloaded more than 10 times (the same part), every time it's corrupted, downloaded again then corrupted... etc etc.

One last thing, i reinstalled my eMule plus, SOMETIMES, the first file that is downloaded after the reinstall completes without this problem, the files after it suffer from this problem.
(Note: When I download a file I am sure that it's not a fake or it's corrupted or something, I check the comments, be sure to have large number of sources having the complete file...)

My regards.

Hi, this is because security policies of your ISP. I was in the same problem until i installed another emule mod with Obfuscation Protocol Function, you have to run your emule only with this feature activated in order to succefully download.

Try emule 0.47c Xtreme 5.4.2, this was very good for me!

Enjoy downloading!

for me the problem isn't that emule plus dosn't have the protocol obfuscation.
i think that the use of peer guardian2 or the use of a good ipfilter can resolve the problem of the parts corrupts

AFAIK this has nothing to do with your ISP (unless the network conditions are really bad).

There was a problem with a Chinese client (VeryCD) which had a corruption spreading bug. This has been fixed by them, so the effects of the buggy clients should have disappeared by now.

EDIT: It seems that there are still a few stray buggy VeryCD clients out there; some of those users haven't got around to replacing their buggy client software with the fixed one.

If you see massive corruption accompanied with unexpected compression gains, keep a close eye on the clients that are uploading at the time and try to spot the bad guy. If you are able to spot it, block the IP address using your firewall or the ipfilter.
