Hi, I searched through the forum and found a post about reinstalling emule and Muleteer indicated that sometimes the reasons for reinstalling are very different so to be specific as each case is unique. First off I read the FAQ regarding reinstalling but I was still a little confused. Recently I had to reinstall my OS, windows xp, and when I did emule plus was no longer listed in my installed programs list, nor was it in my start menu or add/remove programs folder. However all the emule files still remained in my programs folder under emule and I could actually launch the program from that folder and get the client to work just fun, my incoming folder is still the same, the temp folder, the config foldure it's all there and I don't want to lose any of the files I have acquired or lose my stats credits or settings either. But I would like the program installed properly. So can I install the latest version and will it recognize the files that are already written in my programs folder or will it simply rewrite over them causing them to vanish forever. I have a pretty big incoming folder which I would hate to lose because I did something wrong. I was thinking my only solution was to install the new program into a new emule folder and then copy all of the files over but it's 14GB and that's a lot to move if I don't have to. Can you give me a suggestion for the best way to handle this problem. I hope I gave enough detail in my post and that it wasn't too confusing. Thank you very much for your time!
