Full Version: Incoming Folder Empty

Hi,
I have Win 7 and lately installed emule Plus
I downloaded avi and mp3 files that are set to be downloaded to the incoming folder but the folder is empty even though the files were definitely downloaded.
I manage to find the files only when opening the incoming folder using Nero (when doing so the files had a lock sign on them) so I know they are there but are invisible.
What should I do? What is this lock sign?
I tried disabling windows Firewall and my AVG to no avail.

I'll appreciate any assistance,

Jifi

Thanks!
Unfortunately, I'm one of those users who have win 7 home premium and thus can not get into the Local Security Policy Editor using the command gpedit.msc as suggested in the link you sent me.
I understand that in order to change the settings, I will have to do everything through the registry manually.
Can you instruct me how to do this?

Basics first:

Control panel> folder options: show hidden files and folders.

If you can see the files after doing this, then right click> properties> unblock should fix the issue.

I have Vista Home Premium and Windows 7 Ultimate, and both let me use gpedit.msc. Try logging in as administrator.

I have done this already and it didn't solve the issue...
Should I download regular emule instead of plus?

The issue is caused by your environment (OS or some applications). The chances are very low that another client will make a difference.

I too am having this problem: 60GB of files just disappeared; folder incoming is suddenly empty but drive doesn't reflect extra space. Where are the files? I have Win 7 Ultimate and had no problem with Norton Internet Security 2009, but yesterday I updated to 2010 - - could that be the problem? In Windows and Norton logs I can't find anything.

The files and folders are not hidden; Directory Opus and Beyond Compare 3 both don't show the folders (both usually show hidden files/folders). When I say not hidden, they don't respond to anything conventional like dir /ah, etc. etc.

I do have a fairly recent backup, so I probably haven't lost much - - but what's going on here and how can I stop it?

If you want to debug it, you need to use special utilities to monitor file activity on disk. Sysinternals used to have FileMon, it looks that now this functionality is a part of Process Monitor utility.
Utilizing this thing you should be able to see what happens with files after eMule Plus completes them.

Please give us some more information. I am currently very busy, but I will try to find time to try to reproduce this condition and debug it.

1. Which OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7?
2. Which version: Home, Home premium, Business, Enterprise, Ultimate.... wallbash.gif tongue.gif
3. How many bits: x86 (32 bit) or x64 (64 bit)?
4. Are you logged in as Administrator or as a User?
5. Which antivirus, anti spyware, etc. do you have installed?
6. Which file system: FAT32 or NTFS?
7. Any other disk related utility that might be causing this? BitLocker, for instance. Not saying that is the culprit, just that it might be. unsure.gif
