ZoneAlarm alerted me that Emule+ was trying to contact ip address: 190.46.40.36 for SMTP service, that's sounds very strange for 2 reasons:

1) on preferences there is another smtp server for email notifier
2) on preferences there is nothing selected on notification section

Any ideas ?

Thank you.

Just a false alarm. smile.gif

One of the clients you are connected to is using one of the ports that are commonly used for email, e.g. port 25 or 3535. Zone Alarm detected traffic on that port and alerted you. You can safely ignore it.

If you know the user of that client, you could send him a message recommending that he change his port.

A description from our FAQ:
My Firewall reports outgoing connections on port 25 (smtp), why?
Nothing to worry. There is obviously another client that runs his ed2k client on port 25, usually because of restrictions from his ISP as mail ports are seldom throttled. You can set your eMule to any port you like. It's not a law that port 25 is always SMTP, it's only usual behaviour. So you will see other known applications ports being used like IMAP, PPTP, FTP. This is because your firewall software doesn't inspect the packet, but just the destination port (not useful).
