Full Version: Recognize additional file formats

Hi there,

Like I recently posted on aMule's board "I wanted to suggest some additional file formats that could be, IMHO, usefully recognized. I'm thinking to OOo files and Ogg Theora videos along with a couple of other formats (...) I performed a global search for all of the file types and there were results (...)". Apparently I'm soooo sexy that they accepted it, and I thought it would make sense to check your CVS and propose a very similar patch as well. Its purpose is to give the users the ability to find and share more files which are also free formats that are not DRM infested.

For additional details please see the attached linked patch. I also included the modified ed2k_filetype.cpp in the archive. Please note that although I fiddled with them under GNU/Linux I converted line endings to Windows format (CR+LF) since I assume you're using that OS. The encoding used is UTF-8, if necessary you may want to convert that to ISO-8859-15 (don't know what Windows uses by default these days but since it's all ASCII text it shouldn't matter after all).

Here's the archive containing the patch and the modified file, plus the patch and the modified ed2k_filetype.cpp at pastebin.ca in plain text form for your convenience.

All the best.

Thanks, I will take a look at your suggestion.

Thanks again for your patch. I added most of them (.ogv, .webm, .odp, .ods, .odt and .sxw). The rest is either not widely spread or is old like the computer world (e.g. zoo), thus no point to add it now.
