Hello, all.

After reading tons of forum posts about this topic, and after following the instructions on www.portforward.com/routers.htm about my router, I still have very good upload speeds, but sloooow downloads.

Tipically 10Kb Up ~ 2/5 Kb Down

I tried setting:
- Virtual DMZ (on)

and
- Virtual Server with Custom Service Ports: 4662-4672
or
- Special Apps with Trigger: 4662 and Incoming Ports: 4662-4672

In this router I don't have a separate config for TCP/UDP, and I'm not an expert.

My conection is Cable 1 Mega (128 K up)

I used to have a DSL 512K Connection without this router (right to the same PC) and my average downlowd time was about 20~30 Kb.

Any hit would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

Yes, I do. Everything goes pretty well except for the download speed.

Do you generally download files with low amounts of sources? if so it is just a matter of the speed of the releaser. If you download sources with high files then there is another problem.

Do you have XP SP2? If so, have you patched tcpip.sys to increase the limit of half-open connections from 10 to at least 50?

I didn't anything like that, but I was using XP SP 2 before switching from directo DSL connection to this router over a Cable, and the downloads about x10 faster.

Can you elaborate on this tweak, please?

Appreciated,

I'm still downloading the same files as before switchin to this router from a direct DSL connection. But before they went about 10x faster.

Any help is appreaciated,
